Some interesting facts:
# This was the debut album and the first recording Insense ever finished. They started recording for an album earlier but abandoned it, as they found out “it sucked too much”.
# Insense didn’t have a vocalist at the time, so they made all the lyrics two weeks before recording, and Tommy sang them.
# Although Eigil is credited in the cover, his voice isn’t actually on the CD. He joined the band 6 months after the album was finished.
# In addition to Magnus and Martin doing backup vocals, Frode Kristensen of Stargun and Christian Wibe of Animal Alpha, two of the most unlikely screamers, screamed along on the word wrong on “Factory Preset”. They were picked for just that reason
# The high pitched angelic vocals in the background on “Factory Preset”, “In the Words” and “Bacteria” is not Tommy churning his nuts, but Lisa Elstad of now Insense drummer Truls Haugens former band Leech. She was once asked to front for Insense but turned down the offer; for obvious reasons.
# Håvard laid all the drum tracks in six hours!! He was so happy after perfectly landing the last break on “Factory Preset” he couldn’t sit still, even though the song wasn’t actually finished. He was making all sorts of stupid grimaces in sheer joy. The last song he recorded was Arsonist.
# “Thought distillery’s” working title was “kongelåta”. To this day, that’s still the “official” name within the band.
# Song number three is called room for loss, however the graphic designer wrote room for less and no-one saw the type-o before it was too late.
