Some (un)interesting facts:
# This is the first recording with Ola S Hana on bass.
# 12 songs were recorded for this record, 2 didn’t make the cut.
# Most of the guitars were recorded in Tommy’s office and reamped in the studio. The guitar sound was tweaked and recorded the day before traveling to Sweden to mix.
# The amps used on this record are Music Man HD 130’s, both on guitars and bass.
# 175.000 refers to a sum of money – Norwegian Krone to be exact.
# The piano intro on “A Silent Epidemic” was a fluke, but was deemed cool enough to include.
# The record was originally intended to include filler snippets between all the songs, to make the record one long song. The idea was ditched right before mastering.
# The Erosion of Oslo contains riffs that date back to Ola and Tommys previous outfit Syndicate. Magnus rejected the ideas for the song, but after Ola replaced him, Ola filled in the verses and the song resurfaced.
# Tommy contemplated putting all the recorded songs on the album, but it would have made it 55 ½ minutes long, which is way over his 40-minute standard. Still now the record is 7 minutes too long for standard.
Songs not included from the “The Silent Epidemic” recording session:
